The Kansas City Chiefs backfield from 2011 is apparently making its way to a division rival in the San Diego Chargers. Le'Ron McClain already left Kansas City for the Chargers earlier this offseason and the team is now rounding out its stable of running backs with former Chiefs halfback Jackie Battle.

The Chiefs relied heavily on Battle unexpected in 2011 after losing Jamaal Charles due to injury on the season. They responded early in the free agency signing period by signing Peyton Hillis to be the tandem back with Charles as he returns from surgery and rehab, so the writing was on the wall for Battle despite having his best season to date in the NFL.
Battle had 149 carries for 597 yards and 2 touchdowns in 2011. The 28-year-old also caught 9 passes for 68 yards.
