Kansas City Chiefs Sign Former Colts Offensive Tackle Tony Ugoh

The Kansas City Chiefs announced this morning that they had signed free agent veteran offensive tackle Tony Ugoh. This bolsters a position the team has addressed in a number of ways already this offseason and further solidifies the depth chart after a season in which the team was perilously thin all across the offensive front.

Ugoh was a second round draft pick by the Indianapolis Colts in 2007 and played three seasons in Indy, but failed to deliver the kind of results the team was wanting. The line in front of Peyton Manning was always an issue with the Colts, but it wasn't for lack of trying. Bill Polian's draft results later in his tenure with the team just failed to work out, especially along the front line.

After leaving the Colts, Ugoh surfaced with the Detroit Lions and New York Giants before landing now with Kansas City as the team preps to enter training camp at St. Joseph. Keep expectations low for Ugoh to even make the roster, but it's worth a look for another veteran to combine with David Mims and rookie Donald Stephenson.
