Former Chiefs defensive lineman Curley Culp was officially named a senior nominee by the Pro Football Hall of Fame Wednesday.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced Wednesday that former Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Curley Culp is one of their 2013 senior nominees.

Culp, who also played for the Houston Oilers and the Detroit Lions, made five Pro Bowls and one AFL All-Star team over his 14 year career. Culp spent seven seasons as the anchor of the Chiefs defensive line, making Kansas City's 25-Year All-Time Team and later being inducted into the Chiefs Hall of Fame in 2008.

Curley was eventually traded to the Oilers for DT John Matuszak but will always be remembered as arguably the most nimble big man to ever don a Chiefs jersey (as evidenced by his NCAA heavyweight wrestling championship title at Arizona State University). Curley would go on to earn four of his Pro Bowl berths with the Oilers, even taking home the Newspaper Enterprise Association's NFL Defensive Player of the Year award in 1975 for his 11.5 sack campaign.
