Fantasy Football Sleepers 2012: Peyton Hillis Among Undervalued RBs

The Kansas City Chiefs have several interesting players for fantasy football owners to consider for the 2012 NFL season. Jamaal Charles is an elite running back yet he's coming back from a season-ending injury. Peyton Hillis had 1,600 yards from scrimmage in 2010 and now finds himself reunited with Brian Daboll after a lost season in 2011. Dwayne Bowe is holding out and hasn't been with the team through most of the preseason. Yet all three players are potential high value targets for fantasy players.

KC Joyner of ESPN says that Hillis one of the most undervalued players in fantasy drafts so far. The running back will team with Charles for one of the most dynamic and productive backfields in the NFL and fantasy owners for both players should appreciate the rewards. That said, there's more than what most people realize when it comes to Hillis as the power back. Specifically, Joyner says teaming with Charles opens up a lot of opportunities as a tandem option.

"That should leave Hillis somewhere around 200-250 rush attempts behind an upgraded Kansas City offensive line, and many of those attempts could be of the goal-line variety (Hillis had eight touchdowns in 18 inside-the-10 rushes for Cleveland in 2010)," writes Joyner. "That may not vault him back to his 2010 fantasy point level, but it should give him higher fantasy value than where he is currently being drafted."

Hillis currently ranks No. 34 among running backs taken according to Joyner.
