Bills DL Marcell Dareus' Brother Murdered Over Weekend

Stay connected for news and updates

Buffalo Bils defensive lineman Marcell Dareus' brother was reportedly a victim of a triple homicide in Alabama over the weekend, according to Birmingham TV report

Simeon Gilmore, 19, and two others were shot to death in Pelham, Ala., on Sunday. Dareus, a second-year pro who starred collegiately with the Alabama Crimson Tide, left the Bills to be with his family, leaving his status for Sunday's Week 2 game with the Kansas City Chiefs in question.

Obviously football takes a backseat to family tragedy, but if Dareus is absent he won't be the only Bills player missing. Running back Fred Jackson has already been ruled out and wide receiver David Nelson tore his ACL in the Week 1 loss to the New York Jets and is out for the season.
