Kevin Boss Injury: Chiefs TE Will Undergo Further Evaluation

After snatching a touchdown to open the season in Week 1, Kansas City tight end Kevin Boss suffered a scary head injury in Sunday's loss to the Bills and is expected to undergo further tests according to a report by ESPN.com.

A veteran pass-catcher in his first year with the Chiefs, Boss left in the second quarter of Sunday's 35-17 loss after a collison with Buffalo safety Da'Norris Searcy. The 6'6, 255-pound tight end was credited with a 29-yard reception on the play, but was smacked in the back of the head by Searcy's forearm before having his helmet smashed into the playing surface.

Boss remained on the ground while the team's medical staff attended to him shortly thereafter, but left the field under his own power and was eventually taken to the locker room before halftime. Third-year tight end Tony Moeaki, who caught one pass for 9 yards against the Bills, will likely be the one to step into a starting role if Boss is forced to sit out in Week 3, but it remains unclear just how serious this head injury may actually be.
