The Royals decided to send Adam Moore and Ryan Verdugo to Triple-A Omaha, and they did not tender an offer to Derrick Robinson.

The Kansas City Royals made the decision to keep pitcher Ryan Verdugo and catcher Adam Moore within the organization, but the two are going back to Triple-A Omaha. The one player who is not going to remain in Kansas City is outfield Derrick Robinson who was released outright, and was not offered a 2013 contract.

Here is the release from the Royals on these moves:

The Kansas City Royals announced today that left-handed pitcher Ryan Verdugo and catcher Adam Moore were assigned outright to Triple-A Omaha. In addition, outfielder Derrick Robinson cleared waivers and will be not tendered a 2013 contract prior to tonight's 11 p.m. CT tender deadline, making him a free agent.

Moore could have the chance to battle it out with Brett Hayes to be the backup to Salvador Perez.

Verdugo could also show some promise in the upcoming season. The left-handed pitcher was a Pacific Coast All-Star selection last season. At Triple-A Omaha, he went 12-4 with a 3.75 ERA in 24 starts. He did make an appearance with the Royals on July 17, but that was his only start in the Majors, it lasted just two innings.
