Royals Vs. Diamondbacks Final Score: Kansas City Loses Pitcher's Duel 2-0

The Kansas City Royals struggled for offense on Sunday and suffered a 2-0 shutout loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Nate Adcock made the emergency start for the Royals who are dealing with injuries to its starting rotation. Adcock pitched well throwing five innings while allowing five hits and one run. Arizona scored its first run on a safety squeeze from shortstop John McDonald that scored Paul Goldschmidt. Arizona added an insurance run in the eighth on a sacrifice fly from Justin Upton.

Kansas City's offense was all Jeff Francouer and little else. Francouer went 4 for 4 in the game while the rest of the Royals combined to go 3 for 29.

Wade Miley picks up the win for the Diamondbacks pitching seven innings while allowing six hits and no runs. Adcock takes the loss and J.J. Putz picked up his ninth save of the season with a perfect inning to close it out.

The Kansas City Royals can capture a interleague series win with a victory on Sunday over the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Royals lost Friday night's matchup 6-4 but bounced back on Saturday to claim a 7-3 win. Nate Adcock will take the hill for Kansas City and will be opposed by Arizona's Wade Miley.

Royals Vs. Diamondbacks Final Score: Kansas City Wins Game 2 Over Arizona 7-3

The Kansas City Royals rebounded from Friday night's loss against the Arizona Diamondbacks to win the second game 7-3. Bruce Chen had a good outing for the Royals by tossing 6.1 innings and gave up only two runs and struck out four. Chen started the game by pitching six scoreless innings before allowing a pair of runs in the top of the seventh inning.

The Royals offense was strong as they scored at least one run from the second inning through the sixth inning to build a 7-0 lead before the Diamondbacks were able to get their first run on the board.

Third baseman Mike Moustakas led the way for the Royals by going 2-for-4 with three runs, an RBI and a solo home run in the fourth inning. Shortstop Alcides Escobar also had a big game by going 2-for-3 with a pair of runs in the win.

Royals Vs. Diamondbacks: Saturday Probables, TV Schedule And More

The Kansas City Royals will look to put an end to the Arizona Diamondbacks winning streak Saturday night when the teams meet up for the second time in as many days for some interleague baseball.

The Diamondbacks are going for a seventh consecutive victory over the Royals after beating them 6-4 in Friday's series opener.

Bruce Chen is getting the start for Kansas City and he faces Ian Kennedy in the pitcher's duel. Chen is just 2-4 on the young season with a 2-4 record and a 4.34 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 34 strikeouts compared to nine walks.

Kennedy is 3-3 this season with a 3.81 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and 42 strikeouts compared to 13 walks.

Royals Vs. Diamondbacks Final Score: Kansas City Falls 6-4

The Kansas City Royals lost their third straight game as they lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-4 in their first interleague game of the season. The Royals had a 3-1 lead but in the top of the sixth inning the Diamondbacks offense woke up and scored three runs to go up 4-3.

Chris Young gave the Diamondbacks the lead when he doubled to deep left field and knocked in Justin Upton to put them up 4-3. The Royals came back to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh inning when Irving Falu scored on an Alex Gordon single.

However in the top of the eighth Miguel Montero drove in what would be the game winning runs on a double to centerfield which put the Diamondbacks up for good at 6-4.

The Royals had two chances to get back in the game but relievers Craig Breslow and J.J. Putz allowed silenced the Royals bats and did not give up any hits in the final two innings to defeat the Royals.
