Kansas City starts a seven game homestand against the Yankees and Red Sox, looking break their home losing woes against some of baseball's best.

The Kansas City Royals' last homestand featured a brutal 10 game losing streak - the longest in the American League since 1913 - and despite beating Detroit ace Justin Verlander to close their road trip on Wednesday, the Royals will return home to K.C. to face the Yankees and Red Sox for seven total games, starting Thursday night against New York.

New York will pit first time major league starter David Phelps against Danny Duffy, who sat out his last scheduled start because of stiffness in his elbow. Duffy hasn't thrown since April 22 in a loss to Toronto
