The Royals enter a crucial stretch for making a run up the division standings.

At 23-29, the Kansas City Royals aren't on anyone's playoff radar, but with nine games against the Minnesota Twins, Pittsburgh Pirates and Milwaukee Brewers on the horizon, they could play themselves back into the AL Central race.

Monday's series against the Twins begins with Will Smith taking the mound against Minnesota starter Cole DeVries. It will be the first look the Royals get at DeVries, as the 27-year-old right-hander is making just his third career start.

Also making his third career start is Smith. This will be the first time he pitches in Kansas City after he split two decisions in road starts.

Game Date/Time: Monday, June 4, 7:10 p.m. CT

Location: Kauffman Stadium, Kansas City, Missouri

TV: Fox Sports Kansas City

Radio: KCSP 610
