Vin Mazzaro gave up six earned runs on 13 hits over 5 1/3 innings as the Royals fell 6-3 to the Blue Jays in Toronto.
The Royals opened the scoring with three runs in the third. A triple from Jason Bourgeois scored two, and a sac fly from Alex Gordon scored Bourgeois. But Mazzaro allowed all six runs in the bottom of the fourth, capped by a three-run homer from Alex Lind to give Toronto the lead.
Bourgeois went 1-for-2, while Jeff Francoeur and Salvador Perez went 1-for-3 with a run scored. No Royal had multiple hits, and Kansas City went 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position.
