Royals Vs. Blue Jays: Wednesday Fourth Of July Lineups

Stay connected for news and updates

The Kansas City Royals won't find any Fourth of July celebrations on Wednesday night, as they'll be in Toronto taking on the Blue Jays as the United States celebrates its Independence Day. Kansas City, though, can give their fans a Fourth of July treat with a win across the border.

The starting lineups for Wednesday's contest have been announced, and they are as follows:

Kansas City Royals

Alex Gordon, LF
Alcides Escobar, SS
Eric Hosmer, 1B
Billy Butler, DH
Yuniesky Betancourt, 2B
Mike Moustakas, 3B
Jeff Francoeur, RF
Salvador Perez, C
Jarrod Dyson, CF

Luis Mendoza, SP

Toronto Blue Jays

Brett Lawrie, 3B
Colby Rasmus, CF
Jose Bautista, RF
Edwin Encarnacion, 1B
Adam Lind, DH
Yunel Escobar, SS
Rajai Davis, LF
Kelly Johnson, 2B
J.P. Arencibia, C

Carlos Villanueva, SP

Perhaps the most baffling and obvious note in Wednesday's lineups is the fact that Betancourt is batting fifth. Ahead of Mike Moustakas, who could very well have been on the All-Star team this year.
