2012 Home Run Derby: Prince Fielder Wins With Record 12 In Final

Stay connected for news and updates

Prince Fielder is your 2012 Home Run Derby champion.

The Tigers first baseman won his second derby, defeating Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista in the final. Fielder went first and hit 12, which tied a record in a Home Run Derby final.

Needing to hit more home runs in a final than anyone has ever done, Bautista fell short with seven.

Fielder became just the second player to win multiple derbies, joining Ken Griffey Jr. who won three in the 1990s. Fielder's other win came in St. Louis in 2009 as a member of the Brewers. Fielder is the first to win for both leagues.
