The Royals continue a nine-game home stand tonight as Luke Hochevar takes the hill against the AL Central leaders.

The Kansas City Royals (66-80) continue their nine-game home stand tonight as Luke Hochevar (8-13, 5.46 ERA) takes the hill against the AL Central-leading Chicago White Sox (80-66).

The right-handed Hochevar picked up his first win since July in his last outing, striking out four batters over five innings in a 10-5 win over the Minnesota Twins. The former No. 1 overall pick has fared worse when pitching at home in Kauffman Stadium, going just 2-6 with a 5.94 ERA, and allowing one home run per game.

The White Sox, winners of four straight, will pitch Gavin Floyd (9-10, 4.59 ERA). Interestingly, the 29-year-old Floyd's road record is nearly identical to Hochevar's home record: 2-6 with a 4.37 ERA, with each allowing one home run per start.

Designated hitter Billy Butler has carried the Royals' offense, leading the team in almost every offensive category, including a .310 batting average. Over the last seven days, Butler has hit .346, but is hitting just .216 against Floyd this season.
