Jerome Miron-US PRESSWIRE

The Jayhawks are underdogs for the ninth straight week as they seek their first conference win.

The Kansas Jaywhawks are six-point underdogs as they host the Iowa State Cyclones at Memorial Stadium in Lawrence on Saturday. Last week, the Jayhawks lost by only seven after closing as 24-point underdogs to the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

The line opened with the Cyclones as eight-point favorites. As seen on both OddsShark and the SB Nation CFB odds page, one book has Iowa State by 5.5 points, while other lines have moved to six points as money has come in on Kansas.

The over-under point total is set at 48 points, which is a full touchdown higher than the two teams' combined average output. Iowa State averages 22.7 points per game, while Kansas is averaging just 18.6. The key in the over-under might be on the defensive side of the ball, as neither team ranks higher than 94th nationally in total defense.

Another key in both lines should also be the surging Jayhawks run game, which averages 213 yards per game, against an Iowa State's run defense that ranks 49th nationally.
