Kansas Basketball Welcomes Back Sherron Collins, Xavier Henry, Cole Aldrich

The Kansas Jayhawks hosted the Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday at Allen Fieldhouse and welcomed back several former KU basketball stars including Cole Aldrich, Xavier Henry, Sherron Collins and Mario Chalmers, among others.

I was at the game and about 20 minutes before it started a I heard a big roar from the student section and looked over to see Aldrich walking over. (Editor's note: He was wearing shorts! It's only February.) They introduced the players to the crowd and, as expected, there was a large ovation for each.

After the game, which KU won, Marcus Morris was asked about those guys coming back to Lawrence.

"I love to see them come back and show their appreciation and show that they are Jayhawks. We had a close bond when they were here. I didn't get to play with Mario (Chalmers), but I still know him. I am glad Xavier, Cole, and Sherron are back and it will be fun to spend a weekend with them."

Why were they all in town? It's NBA All-Star weekend so there aren't any games. That would be my best guess.

Also in attendance was Jeff Graves, Aaron Miles and Chiefs head coach Todd Haley.
