Turner Baty Takes Official Visit To Kansas, Charlie Weis

Stay connected for news and updates

The Kansas Jayhawks received an official visit last week from Junior College quarterback prospect Turner Baty. The Jayhawks already have Dayne Crist and Jake Heaps arriving on campus but may also be the front runner to land Baty who described his visit as going "exceedingly well."

Baty is a 6-foot-3, 220 pound redshirt freshman from City College of San Francisco where he completed 200 of 317 passing attempts for 2,796 yards and 30 touchdowns while only being intercepted five times.

Crist will be in his final year of eligibility and is expected to begin the 2012 season as the starter. Heaps will sit out the upcoming season per the NCAA's transfer rule. Baty would provide even more depth and would in theory join the competition to be Crist's backup with incumbent starter Jordan Webb.
