SB Nation's Chris Dobbertean published his latest prediction on which teams would make it into the NCAA tournament and where they would place within each bracket. He predicts the Kansas State Wildcats (17-7, 6-6 Big 12) will make it in as a No. 8 seed and the Kansas Jayhawks (20-5, 10-2 Big 12) will miss out on having a No. 1 seed and fall to No. 2. Each team is predicted to be in a different bracket.
The Wildcats are predicted to be the eighth-seed team in the South bracket, which means they would face off against No. 9 UConn (15-9, 5-7 Big East) in the first round. The winner of that game, would, according to Dobbertean, likely face the Kentucky Wildcats, the No. 1 seed, in the next round. The Kansas State Wildcats have six games left to play, three of which are against ranked opponents including a Big Monday game against Kansas tonight, and will need to finish strong to keep their place in the tournament.
According to Dobbertean, Kansas' loss to Missouri gave the Tigers the No. 1 seed in the Midwest, which places the Jayhawks at the No. 2 seed in the West bracket, just behind No. 1 seeded Duke, who had a big win over North Carolina on Wednesday. Kansas would be projected to face off against the Weber State Wildcats (20-4, 12-1 Big Sky) in the first round, and if they make it past that game, they would play the winner between Florida State and Illinois. the Jayhawks still play Missouri again and a win over the Tigers could propel them back up to a No. 1 seed.

Believe it or not but two months from now we will be feverishly preparing to join bracket pools, illegally wagering money and trying to figure out which mid-major will ruin everyone else's bracket while you emerge victorious.
Excuse me while I wipe the sweat from my brow, I got a tad excited just thinking about filling out my brackets for the 15th consecutive year. (Even though I've never won a bracket pool in my life.)
In the first release of SB Nation's Chris Dobbertean's bracketology projection, the Big 12 would look to place four teams in a top-4 seed bracket. While the undefeated Baylor Bears would project as a No. 1 seed, teams like the Missouri Tigers (No. 2), Kansas Jayhawks (No. 3) and Kansas St. Wildcats (No. 4) could all look to keep their potential seeding or improve as the season goes along.
The likelihood is that these four Big 12 teams will all beat up on each other in conference play, but by this projection each team has been rewarded for their impressive non-conference play and strength of schedule, which will surely help with the final brackets are released in nine weeks.

Are the Missouri Tigers going to pay for a weak non-conference schedule and a suspect frontcourt?
