Just after word spread that Charlie Weis lost out on one cornerback who would have certainly helped the defensive backfield, he ends up landing what some call a surprise in a commitment from Nasir Moore on National Signing Day 2012. Moore had eight interceptions last year for East Los Angeles (Calif.) College.
Moore is a 6-4, 185 lb. cornerback who runs a 4.32 40-yard dash. He also has a 37 inch vertical leap.
Moore was a big part of a strong defense at ELAC. Yahoo! Sports notes, “ELAC’s defense, which allows 22.1 points and 333.6 yards per game, is led by cornerback Tyrone Moore. Moore leads the team with 47 tackles while strong safety Robert Felton, who has three interceptions, is second with 43 tackles. Other key defensive contributors include Nasir Moore, Christopher Floyd and Justin Munoz.”
Moore also ran track and field in high school and can play on the offensive side at wide receiver.
