The Kansas Jayhawks will look to make it 18 straight wins at Allen Fieldhouse as they prepare to host the Oklahoma Sooners on Wednesday night.
The Oklahoma Sooners will come into Allen Fieldhouse looking for their second straight win in the state of Kansas as the Sooners prepare to face the No. 8 ranked Kansas Jayhawks who have won 17 straight at home.\
One big key for the Jayhawks in this game will be dealing with the Oklahoma zone, as head coach Lon Kruger has done more work in mixing and matching his man defense with a variety of zone defenses.
OU and the Zone - Coach Kruger will need to implement a zone defense a little more often. Oklahoma had much success with mixing up a man defense with a zone defense against Kansas. It was a large part of why they took a half time lead into the locker room. Kansas may be a bit more well prepared for it, but with the athleticism and talent, it is a much to throw the Jayhawks out of sync and negate any mismatches.
The Jayhawks got a big boost from junior guard Travis Releford in their last contest versus OU. Releford put up 28 points on 9-of-13 shooting as the Jayhawks won 72-61. Can they get that added boost from Releford again, or will the rest of the Jayhawks like Tyshawn Taylor and Thomas Robinson step up at home?
