2012 NCAA Bracket: Kansas State Lands In East Region, Could Face Syracuse

Stay connected for news and updates

After a successful regular season, the Kansas State Wildcats have landed the No. 8 seed in the East region for this year's NCAA Tournament, as the selection committee announced on Sunday. The Wildcats got an at-large invitation after failing to win the conference tournament in a season in which they took out the top ranked Missouri Tigers twice in conference play.

The East region should pose numerous challenges for a talented Kansas State team. In the first round of the tournament, the Wildcats will be facing No. 9-seeded Southern Miss with the winner likely moving on to face No. 1 seeded Syracuse Orangemen in the second round if they can get past the No. 16 UNC Asheville.
