After an embarrassing home loss to the hapless Rice Owls last Saturday, almost all of the (scarce) optimism surrounding the Kansas Jayhawks 2012 season has been washed away.
Over at Rock Chalk Talk, they've been doing a weekly power ranking of the ten teams in the Big 12, and to no one's surprise, Kansas is in last place:

It is a long road ahead for Charlie Weis and the Jayhawks. There might not be another win on the schedule, but hopefully there is improvement.
Even in a best-case scenario, defeating TCU (ranked No. 6) this Saturday was probably out of the question. However, even No. 9 Iowa State, coming off a victory over Iowa, looks significantly better than Kansas.
