Kansas State Vs. Texas Tech Score: Wildcats Trailing 28-20 At Halftime

After a wild shootout in the second quarter, Kansas State finds itself trailing Texas Tech by a score of 28-20 at halftime. The Wildcats are looking to remain unbeaten after entering the game with a 5-0 record.

Kansas State struck first after Nigel Malone interecepted a Seth Doege pass and returned it 24 yards for the touchdown giving the Wildcats a 7-0 lead. Texas Tech answered quickly with a five play, 66 yard drive that tied the score after Doege found Cornelius Douglas for a 40 yard strike.

The Red Raiders grabbed the lead early in the second quarter when DeAndre Jordan punched in a seven yard touchdown run to put Texas Tech in front 14-7. Kansas State came right back as Tyler Lockett returned the ensuing kick off 100 yards for the touchdown. However, the extra point by Anthony Cantele was no good and the Wildcats still trailed 14-13.

Kansas State once again regained the lead on a Collin Klein touchdown run before the Red Raiders exploded for two touchdowns over the final 3:55 seconds of the half.

Texas Tech has dominated statistically out gaining Kansas State 387 to 94 in the first half. Doege completed 25 of 34 for 297 yards. Aaron Crawford has 72 yards rushing on 13 carries. Cornelius Douglas caught three balls for 80 yards and a touchdown.

Kansas State Vs. Texas Tech TV Schedule, Radio Info And More

Bill Snyder's name is on the stadium for a reason - two years after returning to salvage his former program from the Ron Prince "era," the Wildcats are undefeated, riding two close wins over Baylor and Missouri for K State's first 5-0 start since 2000. Now KSU will visit Lubbock, where Snyder said the fast pace of the Red Raider offense isn't something that's unique to Texas Tech anymore:

"Our preparation two weeks ago helps us for a little bit on this game. Probably the thing in addition to people being spread out all over the place – that is not unique in college football – but you know, the tempo with which so many teams play now. When we played Baylor, we played a fast football team. We played Missouri, we played a fast – by fast, I am talking about the tempo, how quickly they get lined up, call plays and snap the ball. This will be the fastest tempo we have played against. The previous couple of weeks have been beneficial as we prepare to get lined up, get the calls in, and understand what we are doing before the snap of the ball."
