Kansas State's resurgence could leap from talking point to national headline if they're able to upset wounded Oklahoma, who will arrive in Manhattan regrouping from a stunning upset loss against Texas Tech. A win by the Wildcats would vault K State to the top of the Big 12, and set up a battle of undefeated teams next week at Oklahoma State. When asked if his team of virtual unknowns is grasping the magnitude of playing the Sooners and potentially staying undefeated, head coach Bill Snyder said his players were aware:
"I think they are. It is not like there are seven weeks of preparation and then there is an isolated week. We still have to prepare the same way we have always done. Whether that is good or bad, I do not know, but that is the way we know how to do it. It does not mean that this is another game. They all understand the significance of the ballgame and the tremendous team that we are playing, but how you prepare does not or should not really change."
Game time, date: Saturday, October 28, 2:30pm CT
Location: Bill Snyder Family Stadium, Manhattan, Kansas
TV: ESPN
Radio: Sports Radio 810AM WHB

Bill Snyder's meticulous ways have been lauded by various national media members of late, but his policy on injury updates is less than loved by local beat writers. Receivers Sheldon Smith and Brodrick Smith have each missed the last two games, and K State officials have provided no update on the pair this week as the team prepares for Oklahoma.
According to the Topeka Capital Journal, Sheldon appeared to suffer an ankle injury against Missouri three weeks ago, while Brodrick suffered no apparent injury. Both contributed to the Wildcats offense in the first five games of the season - Brodrick with 55 yards on five passes, Sheldon with 74 yards on 12 catches. Currently the Wildcats are ranked 110th nationally in passing offense.

With the fall of the Oklahoma Sooners last Saturday night in a 41-38 defeat by the hands of the Texas Tech Red Raiders, the two favorites to win the Big 12 is one we expected and one we never saw coming. The Oklahoma State Cowboys, who defeated the Missouri Tigers 45-24 in Columbia, ascend up to No. 3 in this week's AP rankings are now 7-0 and in control of their own destiny. The other team...
....your Kansas St. Wildcats.
Bill Snyder has coached up his boys from Manhattan to a 7-0 record and sit at No. 10 in the AP poll after a convincing 59-21 victory over the free-falling Kansas Jayhawks. For Kansas State, their chance to celebrate could be short lived, as the Sooners will come into Bill Snyder stadium licking their wounds looking for revenge.
