West Virginia's Dana Holgorsen: Collin Klein 'doesn't make any mistakes'

The Mountaineers head coach praised the Heisman frontrunner after Kansas State's blowout win.

In the aftermath of his team's 55-14 blowout loss to Kansas State, West Virginia head coach Dana Holgorsen was complimentary of Wildcats quarterback Collin Klein:

"He doesn't do anything wrong. He doesn't make mistakes. He is the same guy we saw on film. He is exactly the same guy we thought he would be. He's hard to tackle, he gets in good plays and doesn't turn the ball over. You can say what you want about his throwing motion, but it goes exactly where he wants it to go. He is a good football player."

Klein was nearly flawless Saturday, completing 19 of 21 pass attempts for 323 yards and three touchdowns. He added 41 yards and four touchdowns on 12 carries. Klein now has 1397 yards passing this season with a 70.5% completion percentage, and is ranked second nationally in passing efficiency. His 14 rushing touchdowns place him in a tie for third nationally in scoring, and that does not take into account his 10 passing touchdowns.

Saturday's performance vaulted Klein past West Virginia's Geno Smith in Heisman Trophy talk. Smith finished the game with a pedestrian 143 yards passing on 21 completions out of 32 attempts. Smith also threw two interceptions, and his sole touchdown came in the game's final moments with the outcome long since decided.

Kansas State returns to action next week in Manhattan, where the Wildcats will host Texas Tech.
