Kansas State coach Bill Snyder was asked about Ty Zimmerman in his weekly press conference Tuesday. The Wildcat safety, who earned first-team All Big 12 honors in 2011, has an interception in each of Kansas State's last four games.

Snyder had this to say about Zimmerman's interception streak and his level of play:

As he goes through more repetitions, he gets a little bit better at it, and he is a better player today than he was last season. He is a better player today than he was at the beginning of the season.

Asked to compare Zimmerman, a junior, with former K-State All-American safety Jaime Mendez, Snyder said that they both have a "collective vision of offense and defense" and that both are "instinctive" players.

Zimmerman had five solo tackles against West Virginia last week to go with an interception he returned for eight yards. Zimmerman has made 33 tackles in seven games this season. Recruited as a quarterback, Snyder switched Zimmerman to defensive back in his freshman season.
