Collin Klein is ahead of the pack in the race for the Heisman Trophy.
In leading Kansas State to an 8-0 record and putting the Wildcats in the thick of the BCS title picture, quarterback Collin Klein has asserted himself as the man to beat for the 2012 Heisman Trophy, at least according to the National Football Post.
Klein tops the site's list of contenders, which also includes Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o, Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron, Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller and West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith, who Klein out-shined personally when the teams met two weeks ago in a Wildcats rout.
After ripping through a Texas Tech defense that had been one of the ten best in the country last weekend, Klein is 117 of 165 passing for 1,630 yards with 12 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions, while also rushing for 634 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Klein looks to keep the No. 3 WIldcats undefeated in a Big 12 showdown Saturday with Oklahoma State. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT, and the game will be televised by ABC.
