The latest Associated Press poll has Notre Dame and Alabama at the top.

The latest Associated Press Top 25 poll is out and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are poised at the very top, ensuring them of a shot at the BCS National Championship game early in January. It remains to be seen who Brian Kelly's team will be facing, but at this point, Alabama is the safest bet as they prepare for the SEC title game.

The Kansas State Wildcats are ranked No. 7 overall and didn't move in the standings after a bye week. They are ranked just ahead of Stanford who earned another strong win over UCLA this weekend, so it's a bit surprising they didn't slip. However, Stanford's two losses work against them.

K-State needs a win against Texas this weekend to keep pace with the rest of the national powers and win the Big 12. Doing so will likely earn the team a Fiesta Bowl nod.

With a lone loss to the Baylor Bears, the Wildcats are currently 10-1.
