Collin Klein's status for Saturday evening's game at TCU is up in the air.

It could be a battle of two replacement quarterbacks Saturday when No. 3 Kansas State hits the road for a Big 12 test against TCU. The Wildcats certainly hope that's not the case, but Heisman frontrunner Collin Klein's status is unknown after he suffered an apparent head injury in last weekend's win over Oklahoma State. A national title shot and undefeated season are on the line every week until Kansas State loses.

TCU, meanwhile, has played with No. 2 quarterback Trevone Boykin since early October, when starter Casey Paschall left the school following a DUI.

Freshman Daniel Sams would start if Klein is unable to play. Klein is the nation's leader in passer rating and has 17 rushing touchdowns to boot. Sams stepped in after Klein went down last week and went 5 of 6 passing for 45 yards while also running seven times for 20 yards.

Here's a look at this week's local college football schedule. All times are Central:

Kansas (1-8) at Texas Tech (6-3), 11 a.m., Fox Sports Regional

Missouri (4-5) at Tennessee (4-5), 11:21 a.m., SEC Network

No. 3 Kansas State (9-0) at TCU (6-3), 6 p.m., FOX
