Kansas baseball team heads to Dominican Republic

The Kansas Jayhawks baseball team will play against the Dominican Republic squads of the Kansas City Royals and the Cleveland Indians later this month.

The Kansas Jayhawks baseball team will travel to the Dominican Republc on Saturday to play against the Dominican teams of the Kansas City Royals and the Cleveland Indians, along with taking part in multiple community service projects.

The Jayhawks will take on the Royals in a three-game series from Dec. 16-18 at the Royals' complex in Boca Chica. While in Boca Chica, Kansas will also take on the amateur team Yuli Poso on Dec. 16 and will provide a baseball clinic later that day. After their game against the Royals on Dec. 17, the Jayhawks will travel to a local orphanage and will deliver over 1,000 health kits to the village of Guayabo on Dec. 18.

During their three game series against the Indians from Dec. 19-21 in San Antonio de Guerra, the Jayhawks will face an amateur team yet to be determined on Dec. 20 and take part in a free baseball clinic later that day.
