Canadian basketball recruit Matt Atewe rates Kansas State as the favorites to land his commitment.

After a visit to Manhattan last weekend, Matt Atewe claims that the Wildcats are in the lead to land his signature. At 6'9", 230 lbs, the Notre Dame (Fitchburg, MA) product is being pursued by several other high profile programs. The highly sought-after Canadian power forward spoke highly of his experience:

"Visit went well, and I’m going to set up two more so far," said the 6’9 Canadian power forward. "I just loved the whole family environment and the fact that I can always be around the coaching staff and not feel awkward."

Atewe had more praise for the staff, the team, and the fans as well:

"Their very personable and can relate to what you’re going through," he added. "I also loved that the team was like a family and all the fans are crazy about the team as well.’

Atewe said that his recruitment remains open, but Kansas State will be in it unless something changes.
