The Wildcats received a weekly honor after their upset victory over Oklahoma on Saturday.

The Kansas State Wildcats were named the Fiesta Bowl Team of the Week after their 24-19 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday night.

The team of the week is handed out by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA). This is the third time the Wildcats have received the honor, with the latest coming when they defeated the Texas Longhorns in Austin back in 2007.

The fifth-ranked Sooners were the highest-ranked team that Kansas State has ever defeated on the road. The Wildcats moved up to No. 7 in the AP poll and No. 8 in the Coaches poll with the win.

Kansas State gets an extra week to savor the victory, as they have a bye before their rivalry game against Kansas in the Sunflower Showdown at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
