Kansas State Offense Becoming Efficient, Effective Under Collin Klein's Leadership

The Kansas State Wildcats drubbed the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday, 52-13, with the Wildcats offense running up 498 yards of total offense. The Kansas State attack excelled with both the run and pass, led by senior quarterback Collin Klein.

Klein threw for 210 yards and rushed for 71 more against Miami, scoring four touchdowns on the day. After the game, Klein and wide receiver Chris Harper discussed the strong offensive performance of Bill Snyder's team. Klein touched on the well-oiled machine that was the K-State offense on Saturday:

"It is a step in the right direction. I know seeing things last week when we talked about execution and it really is the little things. We were staying ahead of the chase. Those little execution things are the difference of one or two yards or five or six. It is a big difference when you are talking third and two instead of third and six or seven. Those little things, like you said, we were able to lock in. I credit our coaches with a great game plan, going in and putting us in some really good opportunities. Hats off to Miami, they are a really good ball club, they run their football and they will smack you. I experienced that first hand."

Wide receiver Chris Harper noted the offensive balance was perhaps the best he's seen since getting to Kansas State:

"It was great. I saw Collin's (Klein) stats and saw that he completed nine out of his eleven passes, so he was really efficient. We ran the ball well too. We had 500 yards of total offense and I do not remember us ever doing that while I have been here."

The Wildcats host North Texas next Saturday, before a huge conference matchup with No. 5 Oklahoma on Sept. 22.
