Kansas State Wildcats and Kansas Jayhawks meet Saturday in what looks to be a mismatch
It appears to be an in-state mismatch this weekend when the No. 7 Kansas State Wildcats host the Kansas Jayhawks on Saturday in Manhattan, Kan., in the Sunflower Showdown.
The Jayhawks, in their first season under head coach Charlie Weis, find themselves near the bottom of the Big 12 while having to watch their cross-state rivals become one of the conference's best. The Wildcats have quarterback Collin Klein to thank for much of that success. The senior has himself in the Heisman picture while passing for 758 yards and five touchdowns for the 5-0 Wildcats.
Kansas, meanwhile, finds itself at 1-3 on the season and near the bottom of the league in many categories. The Jayhawks are last in the 10-team Big 12 in scoring offense and ninth in total offense. They're also eighth in total defense. The WIldcats boast the conference's second best rushing offense and third-ranked rushing defense.
Saturday's game kicks off at 11 a.m.
