2011 NFL Mock Draft: Blaine Gabbert To The Redskins

Stay connected for news and updates

The Missouri Tigers are losing QB Blaine Gabbert and some NFL team, likely in the first round, will have a new face for their franchise. Quarterbacks taken in the first round and potentially the top 10, as Gabbert is expected to go, are quickly expected to become "the man" for that team.

That will include Gabbert next April in the NFL draft. 2011 NFL mock draft have Gabbert going anywhere from the third overall pick to the end of the first round.

SB Nation's latest mock draft has Gabbert landing at the 10th pick with the Washington Redskins.

Blaine Gabbert, QB, Missouri. Mike Shanahan tried the veteran quarterback route in 2010, and now Donovan McNabb is on his way out of D.C. Expect the Redskins to stick with Rex Grossman in the short-term while Shanahan works with another project.

Gabbert would be lucky to work with Shanahan because I think he would do a lot to make him successful. The Redskins aren't expected to bring Donovan McNabb back meaning that spot will be open in 2011.

Gabbert could do a lot worse than working with Shanahan.
