That quick lead was enough for Kansas State to hold of Missouri who was playing catchup the entire game. Kansas State was led by quarterback Collin Klein who was only 11-for-16 passing with 112 yards and a pick, but he made his mark on the ground by rushing for 45 yards and had three rushing touchdowns. Missouri did have chances to put more points on the board, but field goal kicker Grant Ressel made only one field goal out of three attempts. Ultimately it was the fast start by Kansas State early on in the game that sealed the fate for Missouri as they could not make up the difference.
