The Missouri Tigers trailed from the start of the game and it was not until the fourth quarter when Missouri scored 14 fourth quarter points to earn the victory. Missouri trailed 14-0 in the first quarter and could never get closer than seven points when Missouri trailed 14-7 in the second quarter. From that point on the two teams exchanged field goals and touchdowns from the second and third quarters.
Missouri's comeback was led by quarterback James Franklin who had 324 total yards with 172 passing and 152 running the ball and had a hand in all four of Missouri's touchdowns with two in the air and two on the ground. In the fourth quarter the Missouri defense was finally able to stop the Texas Tech Red Raiders offense and forced them to punt on three plays twice.
Texas Tech was able to move the ball late in the fourth quarter with a chance to win the game, driving to the Missouri six, before Dominique Hamilton tipped a pass from Seth Doege and Michael Sam intercepted at the four to perserve the Missouri win.
The win also makes Missouri bowl eligible with one game left to play.

The Missouri Tigers have outscored the Texas Tech Red Raiders 14-10 in the second half to narrow the gap and now trail 27-24 in the fourth quarter. Missouri quarterback James Franklin is leading the way for the Tigers with two second half touchdown passes. The first score was at the start of the third quarter and was on a 70-yard drive that lasted only nine plays which ended on a 5-yard touchdown pass to Michael Egnew. The other Franklin score came at the start of the fourth quarter and capped off a 63 yard drive on touchdown pass to Marcus Lucas. The latest touchdown closed the game to three points midway through the fourth quarter.
Franklin has been the offense for Missouri on the day and he also leads all players running the ball with 113 yards with a touchdown run he scored in the first half. Missouri still trails by three with less than eight minutes left in the game.

The Missouri Tigers are looking to become bowl eligible against the Texas Tech Red Raiders, and so far through one half they are in a tussle with Texas Tech who also are looking to become bowl eligible. Missouri fell behind 14-0 after the first quarter behind two quick scoring drives.
Texas Tech has been led by quarterback Seth Doege who is 17-for-26 with 126 yards at the half, but he has not thrown for a touchdown. It has been the rushing game that has scored the points for Texas Tech with Doege scoring on a quarterback run and the other by Bradley Marquez who scored on a 1-yard play.
Missouri used the second quarter to get things in order and began their comeback by scoring on a lengthy 10-play 90 yard drive to get their first touchdown on the afternoon on a James Franklin 5-yard rush. Franklin has rushed for 56 yards and has passed for 60 yards on 5-for-9 passing.
Missouri and Texas Tech then exchanged field goals in the final minute of the half to give Texas Tech a seven point lead at the half.

Gary Pinkel will not be on the sidelines for the Missouri Tigers today in their last home game while members of the Big 12. However, the Tigers have some decent momentum coming in from last weekend’s win over the Texas Longhorns 17-5 and the team should have enough offensive firepower even without star running back Henry Josey (the Big 12’s leading rusher coming into this week) to withstand the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
The Red Raiders have endured a three game losing streak and none of them have even been close. The Missouri offensive attack should utilize the versatile nature of Franklin today since Josey is out, but Kendial Lawrence should take advantage of the start at running back and provide yards on the ground like he did last week subbing for Josey.
Pinkel will be allowed back next Thursday in time to coach the Tigers last conference game in the Big 12 against Kansas. Here’s all the key info you need to know for today’s game to catch it.

Missouri will be without head coach Gary Pinkel after his arrest and subsequent suspension for a DWI arrest in Columbia on Wednesday evening. The Tigers are celebrating Senior Day in Columbia, but must also focus on gaining one more win to become bowl eligible.
Tech has fallen apart down the stretch, and arrives in Columbia riding three blowout losses to Iowa State (41-7), Texas (52-20) and Oklahoma State (66-6). Missouri, for all its off-field issues this week, has been inconsistent in 2011 but brilliant last week, shutting down Texas 17-5. A win agains the Red Raiders would mark Mizzou's first back-to-back wins of the entire year.

Henry Josey stepped up when Missouri running back Kendial Lawrence got hurt early in 2011. Can Lawrence do the same now that Josey's hurt?

Missouri's 5-5, but the Tigers' brutal schedule might explain some of that.

ESPN’s David Ubben, the site’s Big 12 blogger, has set the odds of the Missouri Tigers making a bowl game at 75 percent. That’s likely a low number at this point given the momentum the Tigers should be feeling after their 17-5 win over Texas and the upcoming slate of games that stand in their way. Then again, it’s hard to tell what exactly will happen since Missouri certainly didn’t expect to be 5-5 at this point in the season.
Gary Pinkel will not be coaching Saturday’s game — in fact, he’s not even allowed back until next Thursday after his DWI arrest — but that shouldn’t stop the Tigers from winning against Texas Tech this weekend. Even if they happen to lose to the Red Raiders somehow, Mizzou needs to beat the hapless Kansas Jayhawks in the final game of conference play to be eligible for a bowl. Of course, no one would even claim to be happy about making a bowl game at 6-6 after years of double digit wins under Pinkel.
If the Tigers can win these last two, they will be 7-5 and looking at the possibility of an 8 win season, a respectable total even if it’s slightly disappointing. But if the Tigers can close out with consecutive wins over Texas, Texas Tech, KU and then a bowl win, James Franklin will have preseason voters believing in the Tigers again. If not and it might be a tumultuous off-season in Missouri.
