Missouri's 5-5, but the Tigers' brutal schedule might explain some of that.

The Missouri Tigers haven't had their best possible final season in the Big 12, and enter this weekend's game against Texas Tech with a 5-5 record. But that might be explained by the Tigers' arduous schedule: according to NCAA statistics, Mizzou has played the nation's second-toughest schedule so far, in terms of opponent winning percentage through games of November 12.

Only Kansas (.681) has a higher opponent winning percentage than Missouri (.671), and the Jayhawks have scored just two wins on the season; Missouri has five, including wins over ranked opponents Texas A&M and Texas.

The five teams that have dealt Mizzou losses are a combined 38-10, and four of those losses have come to opponents that were ranked at the time: the Tigers lost at No. 23 Arizona State, 37-30, in overtime, at No. 1 Oklahoma, 38-28, at No. 20 Kansas State, 24-17, at home against Oklahoma State, 45-24.

Fortunately for the Tigers, things are easier in their final two contests. Texas Tech has an identical 5-5 record, and has been shellacked in three straight outings since upsetting Oklahoma, while Kansas is widely regarded as one of the worst teams in a BCS automatic qualifier conference. And the Tigers play both teams at home.
