The No. 9 Missouri Tigers men's basketball team returns to action Thursday against Kennesaw State, a low-major team out of the Atlantic Sun conference.
The 7:00 PM game will be televised regionally on MSN and broadcast on the Tiger Radio Network.
The undefeated Tigers, one of the nation's most surprising teams, are coming off a dominating 84-59 win over Navy on Dec. 10. They've blitzed most of their opponents off the court, averaging 85.4 points a game, 4rth best in the country.
The Owls, who are only in their third season as a Division 1 program, shouldn't pose much of a challenge.
They return most of team that finished 8-23 last season under new coach Lewis Preston, but their experience hasn't helped them much this year, as they are only 2-5, including losing by 54 points at Wisconsin.
Kennesaw State has two players scoring in double figures: 6'7 230 junior guard Markeith Cummings, at 18 a game, and 6'0 180 senior guard Spencer Dixon, at 13.
For Missouri, Thursday's game is the middle of a three-game stretch against lighter non-conference competition, sandwiched between an impressive 81-71 victory over Villanova in New York City on Dec. 6 and a home date against No. 22 Illinois on Dec. 19.
