Missouri Vs. Texas Tech Final Score: Tigers Finish Off Red Raiders, Win 63-50

The Missouri Tigers were able to overcome a poor showing and a scrappy bunch of Texas Tech Red Raiders with a 63-50 victory in Mizzou Arena. There will inevitably be games like this for any elite team, where you don't play to your level of expectation. Give Frank Haith's bunch credit, as when their shots weren't falling the Tigers put their heads down and took it to the rim.

Kim English led the Tigers with 22 points, 19 of which coming in the first half. Marcus Denmon also contributed with 19 points of his own, as his poor shooting (4-15 from the field) was overcome by his perfect 10-10 performance from the free throw line.

The Red Raiders did a good job of getting decent shots and out-rebounding the Tigers, but 22 turnovers in the game proved to be too much to overcome. The No. 2 Tigers move their record to 19-2, and aretied with Baylor at 6-2 in the Big 12 standings while currently being a 1.5 games back of Kansas in conference play.

Missouri Vs. Texas Tech Halftime Update: Tigers Lead Red Raiders 31-24

The Missouri Tigers have been led by senior guard Kim English's 19 first-half points as Frank Haith's ball club has a 31-24 lead over the Texas Tech Red Raiders in the Mizzou Arena in Columbia.

The Red Raiders have struggled all day possessing the ball as 14 turnovers in the first half have slowed any momentum that Billy Gillespie looked to create for Texas Tech. Jordan Tolbert has 7 turnovers by himself in the first half, and their leading scorers have come off the bench (Jaye Crockett and Luke Adams) with just five points a piece.

Outside of English, the Tigers are shooting just 4-16 from the field in the first half and have been out-rebounded by the Red Raiders 14-9. The Tigers must keep winning to have any hopes of catching the Kansas Jayhawks for a shot at the Big 12 championship and can ill afford to drop a game versus a 7-12 basketball team.

Missouri Vs. Texas Tech Basketball: Game Preview, TV Schedule

Missouri will be trying to bounce back on Saturday from its disappointing loss to Oklahoma State Wednesday night. That loss came just four days after a win over No. 2 Baylor that propelled the Tigers to their own No. 2 ranking this week.

Texas Tech figures to run into a sufficiently motivated Missouri squad that is 11-0 at home with an average margin of victory of 27 points. The Red Raiders are coming off of a 69-47 loss on Wednesday that dropped their record to 7-12 and 0-7 in the Big 12 under new coach Billy Gillespie. The young squad may struggle again on Saturday in what is a significant home court advantage for the Tigers.
