Gary Pinkel won't dwell on Mizzou injuries

Despite their winless record in SEC play, Missouri head coach Gary Pinkel won't let injuries change his game plan against incoming Kentucky.

The Missouri Tigers are 0-4 in the SEC and will not have their starting quarterback for the second consecutive game. The Tigers host the Kentucky Wildcats for their Homecoming this weekend, but head coach Gary Pinkel is comfortable going forward with the healthy players that he has.

Starting quarterback James Franklin was removed from the Tigers game against Vaderbilt with a strained MCL two weeks ago, and has yet to top "doubtful" on the injury report. Pinkel will go ahead with redshirt freshman Corbin Berkstresser for the second consecutive week, but the young quarterback has struggled thus far, completing less than a third of his passes and throwing two interceptions in six quarters of play.

Pinkel refuses to let the injuries take the blame for the Tigers' misfortunes, "We don't have excuses for anything around here. Whether you have 1 injury or 30 injuries, I'm still responsible for us winning and us being successful."

The Tigers aren't completely lost under center, as the training staff has cleared starting center Mitch Morris to play against Kentucky.
