Troy Taormina-US PRESSWIRE
The former Missouri star has been lost for the 2012 season.
The Jacksonville Jaguars were already having another season to forget, but now the news became even worse with the announcement that the team has placed starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert on Injured Reserve, rendering him out for the rest of the 2012 season.
Gabbert and the Jags have disappointed this year, but the former Missouri star had shown growth in his second season. Now the team will move forward with Chad Henne at the helm, which is what many fans were hoping to see anyway.
At this point, the injury will make it difficult for the team to evaluate Gabbert after his second season as a starter for the team, thus muddying up the team's offseason plans. While fans will cry foul over Gabbert and want to dump him as the starting option for 2013, the team invested high draft picks to get Gabbert in the first place.
The team also announced that wide receiver Laurent Robinson was placed on Injured Reserve as well.
