Missouri vs. Florida score update: Tigers, Gators tied 0-0 early

The Missouri Tigers are tied 0-0 with the Florida Gators at the end of the first quarter in Gainesville. The Gators were listed as heavy 16-point favorites over the Tigers, but the road underdog's defense so far has put a stranglehold on the Gators' offense.

The two teams traded punts throughout the quarter, as each has only crossed the 50-yard line once. The Tigers' offense got going on their second drive of the game. Running back Kendial Lawrence started the drive by picking up 29 yards on two rushes before quarterback James Franklin completed five straight passes and then rushed for 22 yards to get the Tigers in to Florida territory. The Gators managed to stop the Tigers before they could advance any further, forcing another punt.

The Gators sport the nation's No. 4 defense, allowing just 12.8 points per game this season, while Missouri has averaged just 24.4 points per game, good for No. 89 in the NCAA.
