Missouri vs. Tennessee: Tigers look for 2nd SEC win against Volunteers

Sam Greenwood

The Tigers face one of the SEC's best offenses in Knoxville, looking to stay out of the bottom of the SEC East.

The Missouri Tigers travel to Knoxville, Tenn., to take on the Tennessee Volunteers in a battle to stay out of the bottom of the SEC East on Saturday.

Missouri looks to recover after a disappointing 14-7 loss at the No. 7 Florida Gators on Nov. 3. The Tigers missed several scoring opportunities, including two James Franklin interceptions inside the Florida red zone. Between Franklin and Corbin Berkstresser, the Tigers' passing attack has struggled. The two have combined to complete just 54 percent of their passes and have thrown 11 interceptions to just seven touchdowns. The defense, however, ranks 22nd nationally, giving up just 328 yards per game.

Tennessee is 0-5 in conference play, but is coming off a 55-48 win over Troy, which completes the Volunteers' non-conference sweep. The Vols haven't managed a conference win despite the dynamic arm of Tyler Bray leading the offense to 485 yards per game, which is No. 18 in the country. Rajion Neal and Marlin Lane lead a rushing attack that averages 162 yards per game to complement Bray. The problem coach Derek Dooley is having is helping his players stop the ball, as the defense gives up 35 points and 483 yards per game.

This is the first-ever meeting between the two schools.

Date/Time: Sat., Nov. 10, 11:21 a.m. CT

TV: SEC Network / ESPN3

Odds: Tennessee is favored by 3.5 points
