Thunder Vs. Suns, Final Score: Oklahoma City Wins 109-97

Stay connected for news and updates

Oklahoma City kept pace to try and re-capture the top overall spot in the Western Conference with a 109-97 win Wednesday in Arizona. The win gave the Thunder (45-17) a half-game's distance behind San Antonio. The loss put Phoenix at the No. 9 position in the Western Conference, outside the playoff picture.

Kevin Durant was mediocre (10-for-20 for 29 points) but James Harden was on fire against Phoenix, scoring 40 points with seven rebounds, three assists and four steals. Derek Fischer had two key plays - a buzzer-beater at the end of the third quarter and a foul to start the fourth - that pushed a three-point OKC lead to eight, enough for the Thunder to build upon and never look back.
