VIDEO: Lakers' Steve Blake Misses Game-Winning 3-Pointer To Beat Thunder

It's a shot that will live with Steve Blake for the rest of his NBA career, the sort of game-ending chance that would either cap a solid veteran career or leave it with a sense of what-could-have-been. Instead of hitting the wide-open, game-winning 3-pointer to knock out the Oklahoma City Thunder in game two of the second round series, the Lakers guard missed it and LA is down 2-0 in the series. VIDEO: James Harden Strikes Metta World Peace In Face

There's some familiar phrase about payback, but that hardly applies here given that the difference in blows is monumental. Still it's news that James Harden was able to even get a shot back in the head at Metta World Peace after being knocked out a few weeks ago by MWP's elbow. The result then was a concussion and the loss of a few games, while World Peace served a seven game suspension through the first round of the NBA Playoffs against the Denver Nuggets.

During last night's game two, Harden got his own shot in at MWP's face and the Laker even makes it look worse than it was. Following the interaction between both players will be something everyone watches for all week long.

Lakers Vs. Thunder: Jordan Farmar Calls Out Steve Blake For Missing Shot On Twitter

Most players would love to have the ball at the final moment, one chance like Steve Blake had at the end of Game Two last night in the Lakers-Thunder series to win the game. While Blake had his chance, he missed the shot and the Oklahoma City Thunder now enjoy a two game lead heading back to Los Angeles. At least one former Laker pointed to Blake immediately following the loss and made his point clear:

Farmar is currently enjoying the downtime of the NBA offseason after a successful year with the New Jersey Nets. At this point, the only way that things could get worse for Blake is if someone from the Bobcats started trash talking.

Steve Blake Temporarily Enjoys Best Wikipedia Edit Of All Time

Gotta love Wikipedia. While it's a fantastic resource for most of us, the accuracy of it is definitely lacking at times, especially when a third grade Lakers fan decides to edit an entry. The keen eye of Bryan Fischer of CBS Sportsfound the listing for Steve Blake, the Lakers point guard who missed a last second three to win game two against the Thunder, and for a minute, Blake found ghetto glory.

First, here's the "correct" version as currently listed:

Steven Hanson "Steve" Blake (born February 26, 1980) is an American professional basketball point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers. Previously, he played for the Washington Wizards, Milwaukee Bucks, Denver Nuggets, Portland Trail Blazers and the Los Angeles Clippers.

Now check out the version that Fischer found:

Thunder Vs. Lakers Final Score: OKC Goes Up 2 Games Over Los Angeles With 77-75 Win

The tone has been set for the Los Angeles Lakers at this point: win soon or suffer the same closing fate as the Dallas Mavericks. The Oklahoma City Thunder are on a roll in the 2012 NBA Playoffs. It wasn't pretty but the Lakers let game two slip away last night and OKC will have no problem taking a 77-75 win.

Kevin Durant hit the go-ahead shot and Steve Blake missed a crucial 3-pointer to win the game, but the Lakers blew it down the stretch. In a low scoring affair, they were ahead in the fourth quarter but simply couldn't close it out. Kobe Bryant finished 9 for 25 on the night and the Lakers shot 38.5 percent overall.

Durant scored 22 including what turned out to be the game winner for the Thunder and paced all scorers with that number. He also had 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Russell Westbrook added 15 and James Harden had 13 for the Thunder.

Game three is Friday night in LA.

Charles Barkley: 'Lakers Are Just Trying To Beat The Hell' Out Of Thunder

The Los Angeles Lakers are definitely playing a lot more physical in game two of the second round series of the 2012 NBA playoffs against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Such a response is expected given that they lost game one by nearly 30 points. The team is behind at halftime and their performance so far has some analysts commenting on their playing style tonight.

For Metta World Peace, such a description is nothing new and he's continued to enhance his reputation tonight against the Thunder. Yet the officiating crew is also making their presence known even more than the Lakers with their constant whistles. Here's hoping no one gets hurt and that the refs let them play.

Thunder Vs. Lakers Halftime Score: OKC Over Los Angeles 48-45

The Oklahoma City Thunder are definitely dealing with a more composed Los Angeles Lakers team and yet they still find themselves on top after some crazy officiating and some more rough shots from Metta World Peace. They are currently on top at halftime in the second game of the second round NBA Playoff series 48-45.

Kobe Bryant has 10 points for the Lakers and Andrew Bynum has 12 to lead the team. Jordan Hill has provided a solid spark off the bench going 3 for 3 with 6 points and 3 rebounds. For the Thunder, Russell Westbrook leads the team with 12 points and Kevin Durant is 4 for 4 with 10 points. Nick Collison added another 6 off the bench.

PHOTO: James Harden Clone Also In Stands At Thunder-Lakers Game

I know, I know, James Harden is on the court. That much is clear... or is it?

One look at this photo below taken, unbelievably enough, at tonight's game in the stands and it's hard to tell where Harden really is. Is he playing or watching? The likeness is just too striking to tell.

ANIMATED: James Harden Elbows Metta World Peace In Face

It's hardly an eye for an eye sort of thing, but as James Harden dribbled past Metta World Peace tonight in game two, he at least got a quick shot in on MWP to sort of, kind of, make up for the shot he took that ended in a concussion for Harden and suspension for the Laker. Gotta love MWP's reaction time as well. Great reflexes.
