Thunder Vs. Spurs Final Score: San Antonio Takes Game 1, Defeats OKC 101-98

Heading into the fourth quarte the Oklahoma City Thunder led by nine points and were like they were going to steal the first game of the Western Conference Finals from the San Antonio Spurs. Well, the fourth quarter did not go all that well for the Thunder as the Spurs were able to erase that deficit by beginning the fourth quarter on an 11-2 run.

The Spurs were able to use their traditional half-court offense in the fourth quarter and that was the difference in the game, plus the Spurs also cut down on their turnovers with only three in the second half compared to the 13 they had in the first half..

One key factor to why the Spurs came back was a coaching error by Scott Brooks who decided to play Kendrick Perkins over Serge Ibaka for most of the fourth quarter. Perkins is an offensive liability which allowed the Spurs defense to be more productive.

Kevin Durant led the Thunder by scoring 27 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and had three blocked shots. While Manu Ginobili led the Spurs with 26 points on 9-of-14 shooting, five rebounds and three assists.
