Visual proof that Sporting KC took a 2-1 win at home Wednesday night

Sporting KC clinched the first seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs Wednesday night with a 2-1 win over Philadelphia Union at Livestrong Sporting Park. It's the second year in a row Sporting KC (18-7-9) is the top seed in the East; with a six-point lead on D.C. United they only needed a tie Wednesday to clinch the one seed. Games this weekend between the Chicago Fire and D.C. United and the New York Red Bulls and Philadelphia still need played to determine KC's first round opponent.

Sporting KC opened the scoring in the 39th minute with this goal off the right foot of Jacob Peterson, with an assist from KC co-MVP Kei Kamara:

In stoppage time at the end of the first half, KC's Graham Zusi almost put his team up 2-0. Union goalkeeper Zac MacMath stoned him twice to keep his team within one:

In the 82nd minute, the game tied 1-1, C.J. Sapong took a pass from Kamara and put a shot past MacMath for the winning goal.
