Sporting KC may have to wait until the Eastern Conference Knockout Round is over before knowing its opponent.

After defeating Philadelphia Union on Saturday night, Sporting Kansas City sewed up the MLS Eastern Conference top-seed for the second straight season as well as the No. 2 overall seed in the MLS Cup Playoffs behind the San Jose Earthquakes.

Sporting Kansas City will host the second leg of the Eastern Conference Semifinals on Nov. 8 after playing the first leg on the road on Nov. 3 or 4. The opponent is unknown at this time and the Eastern Conference Knockout Round game - possibly between the Chicago Fire and Houston Dynamo on Oct. 31 - may determine who ends up facing Sporting Kansas City.

Sporting Kansas City will enter the playoffs playing their best soccer as they've set club records with 17 wins and 60 points and is unbeaten in their last 11 MLS matches.

The five Eastern Conference playoff teams are Sporting Kansas City, the New York Red Bulls, D.C. United, the Chicago Fire and the Houston Dynamo.
