In welcome news for Kansas City area soccer fans, KSMO-TV has agreed to a contract which ensures that all 28 of Sporting KC's regular-season MLS matches will be broadcast over-the-air in HD:
"We're pleased to continue our partnership with KSMO-TV to provide high-quality broadcasts that will showcase our club, our stadium and Major League Soccer," Sporting Club CEO Robb Heineman said. "We place a high value on ensuring all our matches are available across the Kansas City viewing area and KSMO-TV has shown a commitment to delivering the coverage that our passionate fanbase deserves."
As part of the deal, their July 7 match against the Houston Dynamo, a rematch of the Eastern Conference Championship, and Sept. 22 match against the Montreal Impact will also be simulcast on KSMO's CBS sister station, KCTV5.
Sporting Kansas City's season begins on March 10 at D.C. United while their home opener is on March 17 against the New England Revolution.
